DESCRIPTION

Join the Black Rock neighborhood residents as we celebrate 380 years at our annual Run for the Rock 5k! We are back and ready to enjoy our wonderful neighborhood! We love our traditional Black Rock Day weekend and are very happy to be able to host it again. 

                

Our registration limit for this event will be 450 participants. In the past we easily went past that number- so DON'T DELAY- REGISTER NOW!

Your entry fee does include the coveted BLACK ROCK Shirt and they will be available the morning of the race for pickup. There is no delivery if you miss the race so please have someone pick it up for you.

Black Rock’s history spans nearly four centuries beginning as a colonial settlement. With its unique location, it played a pivotal role in the War for Independence. Black Rock then became a major trading and shipbuilding center for CT.  In the last fifty years, it has transitioned into a thriving community linked to the growth of Bridgeport. Once an important industrial center, it has developed into a vibrant and close-knit community uniquely positioned to meet the challenges of the 21st century. 

EVENT FEES 

until June 5:

$35 -  For 19 yrs old & over -  Online fee is paid by the event

$25 -  For 18 yrs old & under- Online fee is paid by the event   

FREE Kids fun run-  1/10 mile from the 3 mile point to the finish. 8 Yrs & under only

June 10 - 12:01am until Race Start Reg Fee increase

$40 for 19 & over, $30 for 18 & under and T-shirt or size choice may not be available with late reg if we run out.

Saturday June 10 from 12:00 - 2:00pm at Sun Kiss Glow, 3008 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06605.

Online reg only IF NOT SOLD OUT. There is NO paper/cash in-person registration. ONLINE/phone only on-site. 

 

8:45 Free kids run, last 1/10 mile of the course through the finish line. For ages 8 & under only

9:00 5K Race/walk computer chip timed

9:15 snacks, fluids, followed by awards

With fixed costs and pre-payment of many items, this means we CAN NOT under any conditions REFUND any registration fees. Whether we are live or need to go virtual our commitment to our charity funding will be maintained. We hope you can support this commitment and join us.
 
IMPORTANT DETAIL- There will be a 450 person limit for this 5k event. We need 200 people to break even with our fixed costs! We encourage everyone to donate any additional amount to the charity.

 We will be using a chip-timed system with the chip attached to your bib. The bib must be pinned on the front area of your clothing- NOT on the BACK. 

WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR A SAFE & SMOOTH START- If you are truly at a speedy running level (6-7min pace per mile or under) we urge you to be at the FRONT of the start and ready to go at 9 am. This will avoid crowding on the course and help everyone to run more safely. Thanks!

ON THE COURSE- We ask you to stay safe, announce if you are passing from behind, and not to run in groups. PLEASE DO NOT USE EARPODS, HEADPHONES, or similar accessories which will keep you from responding to directions, traffic, emergency situations, and the wonderful sounds from our neighborhood and cheering fans!

PLEASE BE AWARE OF EACH OTHER'S PERSONAL SPACE- STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY. We will follow all state and city guidelines as it pertains to outdoor events.
